Villa Park Swim Team - CIF Playoff Divisions - Power Points 2024-2025
In the Spring of 2020, the CIFSS Council (made up of all the CIFSS school principals) voted to create competitive equity-based divisions BY SCHOOL AND BY GENDER in the sport of Swimming/Diving. In the past, playoff divisions were created using league achievement rather than individual school performance; in addition, both boys and girls were coupled in the same divisions. In this system, a boys’ team and girls’ team from the same school may compete in different divisions if their competitive strength dictates such. Divisions are regrouped every year using NISCA power points. A team’s points are calculated by finding the best times for each swimmer from league final and/or the Southern Section Championships. A corresponding point value will be assigned to each result using the NISCA Power Point Table (attached). Points will be totaled for each team and the CIFSS office will delineate divisions accordingly.
